| Remy
Julienne and his team were responsible for all the stunt driving
in the film. Remy Julienne attempted to do a full 360 in the tunnel
but failed, as he could not produce enough G force. On his first
attempt the car fell on its roof, the second it skidded out of control,
on his third attempt he hit a structural cavity on the inside top
wall. If you look closely at the picture on the right you will see
a dummy used for the co-driver. The sewer scenes were filmed in
Coventry where the Birmingham-Coventry Tithebarn Main Sewer was
been constructed. Additional side lighting was used as seen in this
photograph taken by the Daily Evening Telegraph during the filming
before the release of the film in 1969. The in-car close up shots
were filmed in the studio and on location. |
