Soho Hotel London June 2009 Paramount team up with The Italian Job Minis for the release the new updated version of the film in HD.

Rémy Julienne more than 40 years on feels at home back in the seat of our Red Paramount Pictures film mini.

Rémy Julienne and his team L'Equipe Rémy Julienne performed all the dangerous car stunts in the film which he meticulously planned out with military precision.

L'Equipe Rémy Julienne was a self-contained unit which comprised of its own team of drivers and mechanics.

The chase sequences was almost entirely filmed in Turin, the scene where the Minis are chased through a tunnel was filmed in the Sowe Valley Sewer Duplication system in Coventry, England in Stoke Aldermoor with all of the filming shot from the back of a Mini Moke.

At the end of the sewer tunnel where the Minis exit are two football supporters, the person on the far left is director, Peter Collinson who places the pin to lock the gate. Collinson was also the person that clung to the back door of the coach as the Minis entered it at high speed also seen here sitting on the far left shortly after filming.

Stoke Aldermore by the River Sowe.

The River Sowe is a River in Warwickshire and West Midlands, England. It is a tributary of the River Avon, and flows into it just south of Stoneleigh.

The Sowe's route takes it through the eastern suburbs of Coventry, in particular the districts of Longford, Wood End, Walsgrave, Binley, Willenhall and near the village of Baginton.

Pier Luigi Nervi (June 21, 1891 - January 9, 1979) was an Italian engineer and architect.

A portion of the car chase, a surreal 'dance' between the Minis and the police cars, was filmed inside Pier Luigi Nervi's distinctive Exhibition Building Palazzetto dello sport, Rome with a full orchestra playing 'The Blue Danube'.

It was cut from the final version of the film and appears as an 'extra' on the DVD of the film. A great deal of the chase sequence was used in the MacGyver episode "The Thief of Budapest" set, as one might expect, in Budapest rather than Turin.

Le Palazzo a Vela, Turin had fallen into disrepair after the filming but has since been restored to its former glory.

Peter Collinson seen hear handing a bottle of Whisky to Rémy Julienne to steady his nerves after successfully completing the jump above the Fiat car factory.
